World Square Boules Championship

This year we are happy to be main sponsors together with Château Le Cagnard of the World Square Boules Championship that’s held in Haut de Cagnes and organized by Cercle des Amis, a village association founded 1873.

Square boule is played right outside the agency and the soundings in the ascents of Haut de Cagnes. The game is similar to Petanque but instead of balls in iron you play with square cubes that are made of wood.

The World championship has been held in Haut de Cagnes since 1980 and takes place every year in the second half of August, this year it starts on the 20th of august and goes on for two days. People are coming from all over the world to participate but also to watch the game, most of the matches are played on the montée de la Bourgade, where we at Minassian Estate have our office in Haut de Cagnes. This is two days of joy for the village.
